Thomas F. Bickham, Jr.

Texas Super Lawyer

Mr. Bickham has practiced law since 1993 and is fluent in Spanish. He earned a finance degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989 and spent a year working in accounting for The Fuji Bank before realizing that banking wasn’t his path. Determined to pursue a career as a trial attorney, he enrolled in law school — a decision that set the course for the rest of his career.

He graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1993, earning numerous advocacy awards along the way. From the moment he was licensed, Mr. Bickham has dedicated his practice entirely to civil litigation. He began his career at the Law Offices of James D. Guiffre, where he represented Spanish-speaking clients in oil refinery cases and built substantial experience handling commercial vehicle litigation. Seeking a fuller understanding of how insurance companies and defense firms operate, he later joined Boston & Cunningham, P.C., where he defended medical malpractice claims — insight that would prove invaluable once he returned to representing injured plaintiffs.

After 4-years on the defense side, Mr. Bickham rejoined the plaintiff’s bar at Jim S. Adler, P.C., where he managed the firm’s medical malpractice and nursing home litigation docket alongside a substantial volume of commercial vehicle cases.

In 2003, he joined the nationally recognized Ammons Law Firm, where he honed his skills on complex automobile products liability and commercial vehicle litigation. His nine years there were marked by significant professional growth and a string of seven-figure verdicts and settlements. In 2009, ready to chart his own course, Mr. Bickham left to found his own firm — and has continued to deliver six- and seven-figure results for his clients ever since.

Recent results include:

  • $2.95 million — industrial accident
  • $3.2 million — workplace accident
  • $1.5 million — 18-wheeler crash

  • $985,000 — pedestrian/vehicle collision
